1. Registration and participation

1.1. The entry to the Open Stage of Klassiek op het Amstelveld is open to young musicians (both instrumentalists and vocalists) up to eighteen years who want to share their love for classical music on a large stage.

1.2. Young musicians can also apply together as an ensemble.

1.3. The application will end on Monday 7 August 2017 at 12.00.

1.4. Enrollment is done through the registration form, which can be found at http://www.klassiekophetamstelveld.nl/open-stage.

1.5. The registration is valid with a completed application form with parent / caregiver permission and a link to a self-recorded YouTube video. After a successful registration, a confirmation email will be sent by Klassiek op het Amstelveld.

1.6. The required YouTube video includes a performance by the applicant of the piece that is also performed during the Open Stage and may take up to four minutes.

1.7. Klassiek op het Amstelveld doesn’t charge an application or participation fee.

2. Selection

2.1. By Monday 14 August 2017, applicants for the Open Stage will be informed about the selection.

2.2. During the selection for the Open Stage, several aspects like instrumentation, repertoire, age and musical level will be considered in order to compile a program that is as fun, entertaining and varying as possible. For example: if several young artists apply with the same piece (e.g. Beethoven’s Für Elise), a choice will be made based on either original instrumentation, repertoire, age or musical level.

2.3. The festival wants to give as many young musicians as possible the chance to participate in the Open Stage, so the chance of selection slightly increases if two or more young musicians together form an ensemble.

2.4. Young musicians who have not performed before in the Open Stage will be given priority.

3. Performance

3.1. The performance of each participant, including an ensemble, is up to four minutes.

3.2. There is one grand piano on the stage. Other instruments must be brought by the participant himself.

3.3. Participants must be present at the Open Stage desk (at the Amstelveld) on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 9.15. Anyone who does not report on time cannot participate in the Open Stage and will unfortunately be removed from the program.

3.4. All participants must be available on Saturday, September 16th, 2017, from 9.15 to 13.30, to participate to the Open Stage.

3.5. In the morning, each participant will hear what time he or she has to be present in the tent next to the stage for his or her performance. Anyone who does not report in the tent next to the stage in time, cannot participate in the Open Podium and will be removed from the program.
